JOB DESCRIPTION 

We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Science Teacher who believes learning should be engaging, interactive, and meaningful. The ideal candidate brings science to life through hands-on experiments, real-world applications, and creative projects that spark curiosity and deepen understanding. This educator is committed to high-quality instruction, continuous growth, and meeting the needs of diverse learners.

Role and Responsibilities​

• Design and deliver engaging, standards-aligned science instruction.

• Translate academic standards into meaningful, accessible lessons for diverse learners.

• Implement hands-on experiments, lab experiences, and project-based learning opportunities.

• Foster a classroom environment that encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and collaboration.

• Differentiate instruction to support varying learning styles, abilities, and backgrounds.

• Use data to inform instruction and monitor student progress.

• Collaborate with colleagues to plan interdisciplinary learning experiences.

• Maintain a safe, organized, and well-managed laboratory/classroom environment.

• Communicate effectively with students, families, and team members.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Education, or a related field (Master’s preferred).

• Valid teaching certification (as required by state regulations).

• Strong understanding of state science standards and instructional best practices.

• Demonstrated ability to create engaging, hands-on learning experiences.

• Experience teaching diverse learners in inclusive settings.

• Strong classroom management and organizational skills

Role and Responsibilities​

• Be passionate about and understand how to GROW learners’ understanding, skills, and confidence

• Lead or assist with age-appropriate classroom activities, routines, and transitions

• Provide a safe, nurturing, and structured environment for children

• Follow lesson plans, schedules, and behavioral guidelines set by the lead teacher

• Manage classroom behavior by using positive reinforcement and clear expectations

• Support individual learners’ needs through guidance and encouragement

• Work in partnership with other educators and staff to provide consistency and quality learning experiences for all families to include, but not limited to, planning and  communication

• Accept substitute assignments for daytime coverage as needed

• Be passionate about and understand how to GROW learners’ understanding, skills, and confidence

• Effectively utilize the VDOE Curriculum Framework to guide instruction and monitor progress, making adjustments for individual learners as needed

• Work in partnership with other educators and staff to provide consistency and quality learning experiences for all families to include, but not limited to, planning and  communication

• Consistently update guardians on progress of each learner using our app

• Be available to work agreed upon session(s) on consistent basis

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• Current Virginia Teaching License

• 1-2 years relevant experience

Preferred Skills

• Tutoring experience
